So uhhh.. with the way the injuries are unfolding is this the year CP3 possibly wins a ring? They've gained a lot of confidence after eliminating Lebron and are steamrolling the injured Nuggies.. I think they have a fair shot at either remaining WC teams and anyone that comes out of the East especially if Harden and Irving aren't at 100%.
The further away we get from KD, the more I find myself coming around to Doc's point of view on the whole KD thing.
(Those arguments a few years ago on the Former Site were a lot of fun.)
KD: not the GOAT, not the real finals MVP, but oh! those daggers against the Cavs. Let's see how he does the next couple of games. I can't wait.
Also: I admired PJ Tucker when he was with the Rockets, and he did a hell of a job again today. I kind of thought he was done, but apparently not yet. Does anyone do a better job guarding KD?
It seems like there are a few really good 22+ year old shooters with size who might be UDFAs in this class. For that reason, I don't think it makes much sense to reach for Kispert at #14. It's not just about what is the value of his shooting in the league, it's how much additional value he brings compared to guys like Jessup or Schakel/Hauser who can seemingly be had in the late second round or as UDFAs.
Although I will say that if Kispert is a forward at the next level, that's more valuable than a guard who can shoot, so I get why he'd be mocked higher. But ultimately I think he should be picked in the mid-20s of this draft or so. Warriors reaching for him with the #20 pick would have been fine, but he shouldn't be in consideration for #14 imo. Maybe they can find a way to trade down if they really want him.
Honestly? Don’t care. Nobody in the playoffs I really give a fig about, other than I would like to see the Nets and Clippers lose on general principle. Waiting for draft info and whether Steph is gonna play in the Olympics or not. (Probably not).
I don’t like CP3 on court, but he seems to do a good job as president of the nba players association. He also seems to have a positive effect on the teams he joins. I like the way the Suns are playing now. I can’t hate on him.
I guess I have to root for the Nuggets as Jamal Murray got injured playing against the Warriors so we owe them some sympathy for that even if it had nothing to do with the Warriors players. Without Murray the Suns are the better team though which is why they are up 2-1.
Just thinking about how the Warriors have never been swept in the Steph Curry era. IIRC I don't think we've lost in anything less than 6 games

KD has played 38 minutes already, the Nets gotta be careful. It would be very sad to see him get re-injured.
Turns out I like PJ Tucker more than KD.
Looks like the basketball gods are punishing the Nets already lol. KD is going to have to do this by himself this year.

Does anybody know what the return timetable is for Wiseman's injury? Just curious how much time he'd have to develop/learn from KG this offseason.
Warriors worked out Jordan Schakel the other day from SDSU, and he's another 6'6 guard who can really shoot:

His ability to shoot without having his feet set when he catches the ball is pretty impressive, a couple examples:

Bottom line: I'm rooting for the Suns.
